Ballast account

The ballast account is a checking account with Banco BS2, whose sole purpose is to guarantee the indirect participant's Pix sending operations, which will be limited to the balance of that account.

Deposit and withdrawal operations from this account should preferably occur through Pix operations, thus speeding up the reflection in Banco BS2's PI account. Important notes:

• If the deposit is from another institution, the impact on the PI account will be immediate. This is the best case scenario:
• If the deposit is initiated from a BS2 account, or from the participant itself, BS2 Bank will need to be notified to reflect the new ballast balance in its PI Account, respecting the SPB messaging window;
• The same observations apply in the case of withdrawals, considering only that here the flows from Banco BS2;

The balance of this account will be debited depending on withdrawals, outgoing payments and incoming refunds. The balance will be used in deposit, receipt and refund operations.
